Master Facilities Plan - Adopted July 19, 2010
Master Facilities Plan UPDATE
In December 2008, the Board of Education voted to hire Perkins+Will Architects to conduct a Master Facilities Planning Process on behalf of District 86. As part of a comprehensive three-phase approach, the District established a Master Facilities Planning Steering Committee, comprised of administrators, Board members, faculty, staff, parents and community members, to explore planning scenarios that carefully evaluate educational and facility goals as they relate to the District’s mission.
We thank all who have contributed their time and opinions as part of this very important process.
Board of Education Meeting: June 21, 2010
Perkins+Will presented Option 3 which included campus-specific facility enhancement/improvement options based on feedback provided by the Board during discussions at the May 3rd and May 17th Board meetings. Perkins+Will noted that all options allow for incremental implementation should the Board decide to move forward with any of the options. The Board will further discuss the refined options during its Regular Action Meeting scheduled for Monday, July 19. Click here for the June 21st Perkins+Will presentation.
Phase III: Design Guideline
During Phase III, Perkins+Will will formulate a set of design guidelines, which will include a means of standardization for consistency and commonality throughout all buildings. The guidelines will provide the District with enhanced opportunities for reduced purchasing costs and serve as a constant reference for future design work the District may undertake. Perkins+Will will also develop a timeline for the remainder of the project.
