| Welcome to the 2008-09 School Year! |
This is a time of new beginnings for our students. As we begin another school year, we welcome the Class of 2012. It is an exciting time of new beginnings for them as they embark on the next step of their journey as high school students in District 86. We wish them much success as students at Hinsdale Central and Hinsdale South respectively.
It is also an exciting time of new beginnings in District 86. The Board has recently made several administrative appointments for the 2008-2009 school year: Assistant Superintendent for Instruction—Dr. Claudia Geocaris; Principal of Hinsdale South—Mr. Brian Waterman; Director of Human Resources—Mr. Troy Courtney; Director of Student Services—Ms. Laurel Beasley O’Brien, and Business Manager—Mr. Jeff Eagan. We welcome them to their new positions and look forward to working with them for years to come. (You can read more about these appointments here).
Along with the new beginnings in administration we have many new beginnings within our ranks of teachers and support staff. Please join us in welcoming all of our new personnel into the family we call District 86 and help their new beginning be positive and memorable. On June 16, 2008, the Board of Education adopted the District’s Vision, Strategic Plan and Initiatives. The Plan adopted by the Board for District 86 was the culmination of feedback from our District constituents and will help the Board of Education and Administration set the District’s course for the future.
