BENEFIT HIGHLIGHTS

District 86 understands that employees require choices for selecting benefits to match their needs.  We want to attract the best teachers in the market and provide them with a competitive benefits package.  As an employee of District 86, you enjoy a broad array of valuable benefits designed to meet the needs of our diverse employee population. 

Medical, Prescription and Dental Benefits

·        Coverage is effective on the first day of employment for full-time employees

·        Option of enrolling in a PPO plan administered by Benefit Systems & Services, Inc. 

·        PPO plan allows you to go to any physician in the Private Health Care Systems network or to any doctor of your choice

·        Retail and mail order prescription drug programs administered by Serve You

·        Dental plan allows you to go to any dental provider you choose

                        Instructions For Rx Mail

Effective January, 2007, you are now required to enroll in the Mail Order Prescription Drug Program managed by Serve-You for the prescriptions that you take on a routine or ongoing basis, also referred to as “maintenance prescriptions.” 

You may enroll in this program through the Serve-You website. For your convenience, additional links have been provided to you referencing the common “maintenance prescriptions” listed by name or by category

Please note:   If you currently have prescriptions that are filled on a routine or regular basis, you must enroll by March 1, 2007.   For any questions, please contact Serve-You at 1-800-759-3203.   

Long-Term Disability, Life, Accidental Death and Dismemberment

·        District paid for full-time employees

·        Long Term disability benefits begin 90 days after disability.  The monthly benefit is 60% of monthly base salary to a maximum of $3,500 per month

·        Election of single or no medical coverage entitles you to life insurance at two times your annual base salary to a maximum of $190,000

·        Election of family medical coverage entitles you to life insurance one times your annual base salary to a maximum of $95,000

·        Retirement insurance program for employees 55 and over with a minimum of 15 years of service with District 86

Certified Staff (additional benefits)

·        Teachers Retirement System pension and disability administration.  The Board contributes 9.89% of the teacher’s salary to each employee’s retirement plan.

·        Full-time teachers are entitled to 14 sick days each year, 2 of which can be used for personal matters.  Employees can accumulate a maximum of 208 sick days.

Support Staff (additional benefits)

·        Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund pension and disability administration.  Each member contributes 4.5% of their salary to their retirement fund and the District makes a contribution to all IMRF participants pension plans.

·        Full-time 12-month employees are entitled to 10 vacation, 10 sick and 2 personal days each year.  Full-time 10-month employees are entitled to 8 sick days and 2 personal days each year.  Employees can accumulate a maximum of 240 sick days.
