Invitation to Teach
This course offers a realistic teaching experience enabling students to work under the supervision of certified staff at preschool, elementary or middle schools. Once placed, students will spend four days each week at their assigned school, to assist, observe, and teach young children. Teaching responsibilities include journaling, observations, creating a visual display, facilitating a field trip, creating and teaching a lesson, and shadowing a teacher for a day. Classroom study focuses on related issues in education.

Prerequisite: Child Care and Development. Open to grade 12 only.
*Enrollment based on application, counselor recommendation, and instructor approval
(based on academic standing, school attendance, and character).
