Electrical Plans are relatively simple. You need to make sure you have good lighting in your house, and enough outlets for your electronics. Think about the placement of your lights and what switches are going to control each light. Don't put your entire hallway on one light switch knowing you don't need half of the lights most of the time. It's ok to have two switches. See example & notes below.

The outlets along the wall that aren't connected to anything are called "hot" outlets--they are always on. Outlets should be every 8'.
