Many modern websites require Java to run sophisticated programs over the web. In the old days, Windows XP didn't have Java installed due to some kind of lawsuit between Sun Microsystems and Microsoft. For the most part, most modern browsers run Java without a hitch. To take advantage of these sites, you need to download and install the 'real' Java from Sun Microsystems by clicking here and selecting "Open" to run the installation file--then you should be able to access the cool Java features of any website! :) (For best results, you should shut down and restart Internet Explorer before opening any Java sites--you may need to hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete and go to the tasks view and 'end task' to shut down Internet Explorer if it hangs on you! Good luck!)
