Projectile motion is the study of objects moving solely under the influence of gravity such as when you kick a field goal, shoot a perfect free throw, or crumple up your napkin and toss it into the trash can.

Robin Hood Prince of Physics?

The legendary Robin of the Hood would definitely not shoot "straight as an arrow" in the lala land of Hollywood--accounting for gravitational deflection and the true parabolic trajectory of any object hurtling through the air, Sir Robin would be capable of performing millions of calculations per second in his muscles, bow strings, and draw of the arrow to strike his target everytime!

See this classic projectile problem with a new twist--flaming hoops are set along the precisely calculated trajectory of our flying arrow to strike our final target with deadly accuracy!
