Electrostatics is the study of electricity at rest, whether
it be the fundamental structure of matter and atomic bonding, to nature's
incredible display of electrostatic discharge every time lightning
streaks across the night sky, to your socks sticking to your pants due to
static cling, to the everyday wonders of the Xerox machine or computer RAM
chips, a fundamental understanding of electrostatics underlies all these
phenomena.
Enjoy your explorations of electrostatics! :)
