Policy on ...   GRADING

Grades are based on the percent of total points earned.
Extra credit points can be earned by completing original independent projects for students who have no outstanding major assignments.
A participation evaluation counts as 3% of the overall grade.
The semester grade is 40% of  each quarter plus 20% for the final.
Letter grades are determined as follows:

A = 89.5 - 100          C  = 69.5-79.4
B = 79.5 - 89.4          D = 59.5- 69.4

Policy on... missed homework & labs & tests

Late work is generally not accepted unless due to an acceptable excused or prearranged absence  with the teacher.   Excused late homework must be turned in upon return to school.  Such work will be graded as normal unless the answers have been already given in a class in which case it will be given a NG, no grade credit which means no points lost or gained.  Work never turned in receives a zero.   Missed labs may be made up by repeating the lab or taking a lab quiz depending on the teacher's preference.  Missed tests and quizzes must be made up within the number of days a student was absent.  To take the same quiz or test, a student must make up the test by the very next morning after the test was administered in class. Students should see the teacher in all cases.
