                                                         The cell is like a small factory; raw materials come in and are used to make a final product.  Waste materials are given off. Within cells are very small organelles that carry out the functions of the cells.

 

 

Some organelles act like the furnace and  keep the cell supplied with energy.

 

 

Others break down molecules into smaller usable pieces.

 

 

 
There are organelles that synthesize or build needed materials.
Some organelles store materials for the cell until they are needed
