Welcome to PhyzzPhun, an interactive physics program written by Hinsdale Central brainy grad Utsav Sethi.

Enter the program by clicking on the picture of the Fizmastah (Mr. Breig) to the right. Don't blame me ... Utsav used my picture without me realizing. Kind of an honor, though.

When you find a somewhat blank screen, enter the name of the quiz in the box. Your teacher will supply the quiz name. The quiz name will be in all lower-case characters and with no spaces.

What is PhizzPhun? What do I do?

You will have several problems to solve. For any given question, not enough information is supplied. This means that you will always have to select at least one piece of data for each problem. To further complicate the issue, each time you request data your score goes down. Each time you get the wrong answer your score goes down. Each time you ask for a hint your score goes down. See the pattern?  Oh, and did I mention that it's timed so if you work slow ... your score goes down! (Perhaps you are seeing a pattern here?)

Also, sometimes Utsav has used 10 instead of 9.8 for gravity just to make calculations easier. Be aware of this when you input your answer!

The game we're playing then is to try to solve the problems as quickly and efficiently as possible. Feel free to consult your notes or your partner, but don't consult other groups -- let them have their own phun!

Good luck, and don't panic!

You may need the Flash plug-in (v6.0+) -- click below if you need to install the Flash player.
