Welcome to Mr. Breig's Space at Hinsdale Central!

This page is updated constantly and sometimes randomly.  :-P

Feel free to look around to find some hidden stuff that may be helpful as you study physics at Hinsdale Central. The "Why Study Physics" section has been updated recently to include more career ideas. Look in the Honors section to find wisdom and answers to many of the homework problems assigned. Look under the HFL part of the AP site in order to see Hinsdale Fyzx League updates.

Who is Mr. Breig?  Honors and AP Physics teacher, statistician for Red Devil  girls basketball and girls soccer, JETS co-coach, and he thinks he's a really funny guy (but we know better). Mr. B got a degree in Physics from Eastern Illinois University, did some graduate work in Physics at Indiana University, then finished up a Masters degree in Physics Education at EIU. He was chosen in 2004 as the top Physics graduate student for the first half-century of EIU graduate school (1953-2004). Mr. B has been teaching Physics at Hinsdale Central since 1988.

Ms. Breig

Ms. Breig (sister o' Mr. Breig) has taught Physics here at HC since 1994. She has a bachelors in Physics and Masters in Physics Education, both from Eastern Illinois, and spent time studying meteorology at the graduate school at Oklahoma University. She has taught Honors and/or AP Physics since 2002. She is also co-coach for the JETS team.

Her web page can be found at http://www.hinsdale86.org/staff/abreig/ and has lots of good wisdom and some neat visual simulations. Visit her page to find out more about her and to find her physics goodies.

To find out about Dr. Snake, you need to go into the "Why Study Physics" section of Mr. B's page and look for "Physics People"....

January, 2009 update  -- Mr. Breig Wrote A Book!

Okay, actually co-authored it and it's not a physics book. It's a role-playing game!

You can actually download a free copy from Mythmere Games at this link:

January, 2010 update  -- Mr. Breig's game gets published for real!

The role-playing game I wrote is being published through a small press company called "Brave Halfling Publishiung" and is broken down into 4 small game books in a white box. Here's what the booklets look like:

Again, no physics found therein, but kind of neat anyway. :-)
