Vision Statement
As we set the course for the 21st Century, we believe music education is critical in the formation of well rounded citizens. By providing all students many and varied musical experiences, we will create, foster and develop individual with a better understanding of the arts - in past, present and future societies. Through music education, we hope to develop better problem solvers, students as communicators, critical thinkers, cooperative workers, skilled information processors and lifelong learners.
Mission Statement
The mission of the music department is twofold. First, students in music performance classes will be provided multiple experiences - combining performance, historical and theoretical information. The second mission for the music department is to enhance student understanding of music's connection to all academic disciplines and the world in which they live by providing information and experiences in everyday courses.
