This extra curricular activity is open to any student in our school interested in learning more about environmental issues and acting on his/her concern for the environment. We hold meetings after school in room 114 and new members are always welcome. Listen to the student daily bulletin for meeting dates.
Quotes to ponder
Man did not weave the web of life- he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web he does to himself- Chief Seattle
You must be the change you wish to see in the world - Mahatma Gandhi
Increasingly, the world around us looks as if we hated it. - Alan Watts
I think the environment should be put in the category of our national security. Defense of our resources is just as important as defense abroad. Otherwise what is there to defend?- Robert Redford
I really wonder what gives us the right to wreck this poor planet of ours. - Kurt Vonnegut
We won't have a society if we destroy the environment. - Margaret Mead
Man shapes himself through decisions that shape his environment. - Rene Dubos

We abuse land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see the land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect. - Aldo Leopold (1887-1948) US forester, conservationist
The most alarming of all man's assaults upon the environment is the contamination of air, earth, rivers, and sea with dangerous and even lethal materials. This pollution is for the most part irrecoverable; the chain of evil it initiates not only in the world that must support life but in living tissues is for the most part irreversible. In this now universal contamination of the environment, chemicals are the sinister and little-recognized partners of radiation in changing the very nature of the world--the very nature of its life. - Rachel Carson 1962
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
nothing is going to get better, it's not.
-The Lorax, by Dr. Seuss
