To implement
its mission and educational goals, District 86 annually reviews its
performance. This review takes many forms. Annually, each school
develops a School Improvement Plan based on identification of
priority needs and data analysis, and outlines areas for improvement
for the coming school year. Each school convenes a School
Improvement Committee to select and subsequently review measures of
success, progress on the School Improvement Plan, as well as on the
Curriculum Development and Renewal process. Departmental teams
review course assessment results and student achievement of
objectives.
At
the District level, the Board of Education is provided with
information from many sources, i.e., individual buildings, community
representatives, parents, students, etc. Based upon this
information, the Board annually adopts a set of goals and actions
that are designed to address areas of need and to help us better
achieve our mission and educational purposes.
