Open environment

District 86 is an open environment for personal wireless computers owned by District 86 students, faculty, and staff.  Officially enrolled students have network rights. District 86 Instructional and Information Technology Department staff can provide assistance with network connectivity.  If a student needs such assistance, they should ask one of their teachers to call in a Help Desk request for the student.  All Help Desk requests must be placed by faculty or staff.  A PC Specialist will contact the student and provide reasonable assistance to connect the computer to the network.  The PC Specialist will ask the student and his or her parents to sign a "Parent Notification and Permission" form authorizing District 86 personnel to work on the computer.  We cannot work on a non-District 86 computer without official authorization by a parent or guardian.  A copy of that form is here.

If you have questions about student use of personal wireless computers in our schools, please contact Mark Pennington, Assistant Principal at Hinsdale South (630-468-4215, mpennington@hinsdale86.org),or Stephanie Palmer, Assistant Principal at Hinsdale Central (630-570-8213, spalmer@hinsdale86.org).
