1:1 Learning Environment
Research continues to indicate that consistent, thoughtful implementation of technology in the classroom leads to improved learning outcomes and significantly increases the engagement and involvement of students in the learning process. Technology, while an important instructional tool, does not itself drive instruction in District 86; rather, it is another tool available to students and teachers to help them achieve these goals.
Teachers receive ongoing staff development on best practices for using devices and electronic resources in the classroom environment.
As part of the District 86 1:1 Learning Environment, each student receives a Chromebook for use both at school and at home. For more information on the District 86 1:1 Learning Environment, please view the frequently asked questions (FAQ) document below.
All students and parents must agree to the District 86 Responsible Use Policy and the District 86 Chromebook Agreement prior to receiving the Chromebook.
