The district shall provide a free appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment and any necessary related services to all children with disabilities who are enrolled in the district.
A referral process and a case study evaluation are used to help determine if students are eligible for special education services. The results of the case study evaluation are also used to develop an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for the student. Parents/guardians, general and special education teachers, and administrators meet regularly to review the student's progress, identify their individual needs and monitor the implementation of the IEP.
If you have questions about the district's special education programs, or would like to refer your child to be considered for a case study evaluation, please contact:

Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
Students with disabilities who do not qualify for an IEP as required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and implementing provisions of the code may qualify for services under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 if the child (i) has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, (ii) has a record of a physical or mental impairment, or (iii) is regarded as having a physical or mental impairment.
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 was enacted to prohibit discrimination based on disability in programs or activities receiving federal funds. Students who are unable to participate in school programs or activities because of a disability that affects one of their major life activities (e.g., caring for oneself, performing manual tasks, walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, breathing and learning) may be eligible for accommodations through a Section 504 plan. Inquiries about 504 plans should be directed to:
