Highlights:
The Board of Education of the Hinsdale Township High School District 86 is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as the next superintendent beginning July 1, 2024. 

Hinsdale Township High School District 86 is among the best public school districts in Illinois, serving almost 4000 students and employing more than 600 highly-qualified staff members. The award-winning district supports two comprehensive high schools and a transition center, offering an extensive selection of curricular programs and extracurricular activities.  

A highly attractive suburban community, Hinsdale Township is located west of Chicago in DuPage County.  Residents of the township demonstrate strong support for education, including passage of a $140M capital referendum in 2019.  The District provides a well-rounded educational program supported by an annual budget of $132M.

Recent notable achievements in District 86:

  • 91% of teachers hold a master’s degree or higher

  • Hinsdale Central was named a Blue Ribbon School in 2021

  • Transition Program provides critical services to young adults with disabilities

  • Freshman on track rate is nearly 99%

  • Significant upgrades and renovations have been completed to facilities on both campuses 

  • District 86 Board adopted 86 Forward in 2018, a strategic plan designed to empower students to pursue their ideal future.  The main goals/areas of focus include the following:
