Threat assessment teams are formed based on the specific threat. Members of the teams are trained to support students in need.
A Culture of Belonging
Belonging is another primary objective of District 86 and our excellent schools. Safety begins when schools create an inclusive environment where all students and staff feel safe and welcome. When students feel they belong, are part of a community, have positive and supportive relationships with adults, and understand how school helps them achieve the future they want, they are likely to pursue their ideal future with a sense of positivity, hope and safety. We continue to review and develop our programs and initiatives so that a vibrant and accepting culture of belonging exists for everyone in our schools.
